    Tournament of Champions

Tournament of Champions (TOC) was created by Dr. J.W. Patterson, the former director of debate at the University of Kensas in 1927. Now in its 47th year, the Tournament serves as the forum of competition for the nation's very best speech and debate participants. TOC strives to offer the national high school debate community the highest quality judging, impartial tournament officials, and a friendly, congenial atmosphere.

The Tournament currently holds competition in Public Forum Debate, Policy Debate, Congressional Debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, Original Oratory, Dramatic Interpretation and other speech events. Every year, all teams attending must earn the right to compete based on "bids" earned at selective events throughout the country, or by getting accepted as an at large entry. It is considered the most prestigious and competitive American high school debate tournament.

    Program Highlights:

    • TOC Public Forum Topic Analysis (resource package)
    • Tournament preparation: modeling tournament practices, refining arguments and techniques, strategizing etc.

in the following year depending on their wins
    • Meet and learn from the best debaters from across the nation
